Members of the anti-war movement Code Pink, atop pink bicycles festooned with tassles, flowers and hot pink leopard fur, spread their message throughout the crowds outside the Democratic National Convention.
Code Pink’s slogans, “Make Out Not War” and “I am a Delegate for Peace,” were ubiquitously stuck to delegates and other convention goers throughout the week. Instead of positioning their activists stationary on street corners, Code Pink distributors took to the streets on highly visible bicycles, attracting attention with their rosy flamboyance. Distributors of stickers, flyers and the message of Code Pink attributed the use of bicycles to the widespread coverage of their campaign.
