While browsing books with my daughters in the children’s library, I came across this book:
Published in 2005, Hello Kitty What Will I Be A to Z is a cute little picture book that places Sanrio‘s Hello Kitty in 26 different careers, surrounded by the essential tools of that trade.
I was excited to find, immediately after Movie Star, that the book listed Newspaper Reporter! But, upon closer examination, I discovered something unexpected. Apparently, Sanrio knew that newspapers were on a dramatic decline before the rest of us. Take a look:
That’s right—even in 2005, ramen noodles were considered an essential tool of the newspaper reporter. Guess we should have seen it coming.
