Once again, WordCount’s Michelle Rafter asks the question that I’m wondering: Am I a winner or a whiner? And when the going gets tough, do I overcome the challenge or stew in a big, steaming bowl of wah-wah?
Dissatisfaction with the status quo and/or establishment are cornerstones of the independent professional’s belief system—otherwise we’d all be whistling happily in our cubicles. But instead of letting that desire for dissent serve as a transformative medicine to improve our lives and our work, it can turn sour, into a roiling pot of whining and complaining. In a world where our every thought is shared freely online, it can be a poison to our business.
